Girl, Eat the Cake.

Without a doubt, the cake is my favorite part of hosting a party. Not only are the best cakes pretty and picture-worthy, but what a delicious conversation starter around the table at an intimate evet and a natural reason to get guests mingling on their feet at a venue! Below, I’ll share a few of my favorite cake bakers – if they happen to be in your area, tell them Natalie sent you!

A Timeless Baby Shower

This timeless rustic baby shower was just so sweet and pretty and it was a true joy to experience the high-spirited and contagious energy of the room!  I’ll share a few of my favorite highlights from this party, below and I’m confident that the sources and photos I share will spark some creative ideas for your next intimate event! Cheers!

When asked for a hand coordinating some of the shower details, I was so thrilled to welcome our friends’ new baby boy the best way I knew how – I just couldn’t wait to help create a darling little farmhouse shower for my “boss lady” of a  girlfriend, Ali!

The adored mom-to-be, selected a quaint and beautifully renovated Lebanon farm as her shower venue; and Hidden Valleys Orchard’s menu surely didn’t disappoint as guests enjoyed a mid-afternoon snack with a full spread of house hors d’oeuvres and and signature cocktails over conversation and the melody of Frank Sinatra.

Traditional baby blue was sprinkled throughout the barn-style tables and charming stuffed teddy bears smiled along white lace runners, and were contrasted with gold votive candles and fresh hydrangea arrangements from our local florist, Oberer’s.

Guests enjoyed teddy-themed “baby bingo” and the “price is right”, and just after game winners were announced, the cake was sliced – family favorite, Bonnie Lynn Bakery boasted an assortment of chocolate-dipped treats that couldn’t be sweeter!!

Oversized balloons and a personalized welcome sign, created by a friend of the couple offered natural backdrops for selfies and photos, and when the final gift had been opened and admired, guests doted over mommy’s belly and hugged goodbye with miniature jars of honey in their hand as a delicious party keepsake.

This summertime dream of a party was just a small gesture to show how much Ali & Robbie’s baby boy is loved already!
